What paint correction actually fixes

Every time a car is washed carelessly, dried with the wrong towel, or brushed by an automatic car wash, thousands of microscopic scratches are left in the clear coat. Individually they're invisible; together they scatter light and make paint look hazy, swirled, and tired. Especially under the harsh Arizona sun, which also oxidizes neglected clear coat over time.

Paint correction is the controlled, machine-polishing process that levels those defects out of the clear coat entirely. It's not a wax hiding the damage for a few weeks. The defects are gone.

Three levels, depending on what the paint needs

Not every car needs the same amount of work, and quoting it as one service would mean overcharging half of you. There are three levels, and paint correction starts at $500.

Paint enhancement

A single refining polish that adds gloss and depth without chasing out every defect. It cleans up light haze and dullness and makes the finish look wet again. This is the right call on a well-kept car, or on thin paint where removing more clear coat is not worth it.

One-step correction

A cutting and finishing pass combined. This removes the majority of light to moderate swirls and wash marks, which on most daily drivers is the bulk of what you actually see in the sun. It is the usual choice for a car that has been through automatic washes.

Two-step correction

A dedicated cutting stage followed by a separate refining stage. This is for deeper scratches, heavy swirling and oxidised paint where one pass will not get there. It takes considerably longer, and it is what gets a finish close to better-than-new.

Which one your car needs is not something to guess at from photos. We check the paint depth on site and tell you honestly. If enhancement gets you most of the way there, we will say so rather than sell you two-step.

One thing to know either way: corrected paint is bare and beautiful. And unprotected. Most customers pair correction with a paint sealant, or lock it in for years with a ceramic coating.
